Our site is designed to help parents and families to find sitters
and for sitters to find jobs in their area.
The search is performed based on the desired zip code and the
distance from it. In addition advanced search can be used to
look for sitters or job openings with very specific criteria,
i.e. duties performed or required, living arrangements,
language spoken, etc.
Parents can search for candidates and preview their profiles for free.
To access contact informaion of qualified sitters or to post a job for a sitter,
a paid membership is required.
Registered parents have an option to display their contact information
to prospective sitters or to keep their contact information private.
When parents no longer wish to display their profile they can deactivate it by unchecking
the "Active" option on the top of the Prfile Update screen.
To become a sitter a candidate must be 18 years old or
at least 13 year old and accompanied by a parent or guardian while registering.
This is required in order to comply with COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act
of 1998).
Sitters may either search for job openings in their area or post their profile with SittersSearch.
The more information is provided in the profile the more parents
will know about the candidate and more likely they will contact this candidate.
Uploading the picture greatly improves candidate's chance of getting the job.
Sitters may elect to purchase membership if they wish to be able
to contact families for job openings in the area.
With free membership sitters do not have access to contact information and will
have to wait until contacted by parents.
Sitters should log in to their account frequently. The more often sitters log in the better chance they have to be noticed by the prospective employers.
Also, Sitters can manually deactivate their profile at their own discretion.
In this case, it will not be displayed when families search for sitters in their area.

Please remember to deactivate your profile once you found a job or are no longer available.
You can do so by logging into your account and unchecking Profile Status checkbox.
There are two types of memberships: Free and Paid .
Free membership is unlimited and offers multiple benefits like search of the database, preview profiles of prospective sitters and create your own profile.
Paid membership offers additional features. It allows viewing the contact information of the sitters, choice of displaying your own contact information and
automatic email notification when potential sitters register near you (the last one is coming up soon).
Paid membership is only $9.95 a month for parents and $4.95 a month for sitters and is not reoccurring. We do not store credit card information on file and you’d need to purchase the membership
again if you want to keep it next month.
That’s it, no long term contracts, no setup fees, no hidden charges. Well, there is a sales tax of 7% if you live in NJ.
Background Check from US SEARCH
is available for an additional fee.
We use PayPal to securely process payments. When you are ready to make a purchase,
you will be prompted to log into your Paypal account and
if you don't have one, just pay with your credit card.
You can finish paying in just a few clicks.
We do not want to inconvenience you by having to cancel your membership
when our service is no longer needed. That is why we do not store your
credit card information. If you'd like to continue to use our service
after the expiration date you can purchase additional membership
at your discretion.
Obviously, identifying a sitter is only the first step in the process.
We strongly recommend that parents and families conduct face to face
interview, check references and do a background check of the candidate
before entrusting their children to potential caregivers.
